The agreement governing accounts, memorable names, Smart features, renewals and use of NowTake.me, NowOpen.me and NowGet.me.
Agreement and scope
These Terms form an agreement between you and the operator of the NowTake.me, NowOpen.me and NowGet.me service, referred to in these Terms as “Now Links”, “we”, “us” or “our”. They apply when you browse the service, create an account, request or use a memorable name, create a QR code, configure a destination or use any routing, analytics or account feature.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy. You acknowledge the Privacy Policy. The Abuse & Safety Policy explains how reports and safety decisions are handled. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter an agreement. Information supplied during registration must be accurate and kept current. You must use an email address you control, protect your password and notify us promptly if you believe the account has been accessed without permission.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account, except to the extent it results from our failure to use reasonable care. Accounts must not be shared publicly, created using false identities or used to avoid an earlier restriction. We may require email, identity, business, authority or ownership verification before approving a name or restoring access.
Name applications and human review
A name search is only an indication of availability. A name is not secured until the request is accepted, any required verification is completed and the name is assigned to your account. We may decline, reserve or require additional review of any name.
Names may be classified as Standard, Premium, Select, Signature or Protected. Automated tools may assist with an initial recommendation, but a person may review the wording, commercial value, scarcity, impersonation risk and intended use. Human review and approval do not guarantee that your proposed use is lawful or that it does not affect another party’s name, trademark or rights.
You must have all permissions reasonably required for the name and destination you use. We may request proof that you control a business, brand, property, project or destination and may reconsider an approval if important information was missing or misleading.
Your right to use a memorable name
A memorable name is not sold to you and does not become your property. While the registration remains active, you receive a limited, revocable and non-transferable right to use the assigned NowTake.me, NowOpen.me or NowGet.me address through your account in accordance with these policies.
You must not sell, auction, lease, rent, license, sublicense, broker, transfer or advertise a memorable name or account on a marketplace. This applies to every tier, including names for which a fee has been paid. A genuine change in ownership of a verified business or organisation may be considered only with our prior written approval.
Some category-defining names may be retained by Now Links as Network Signatures. A Network Signature may connect visitors with different participating providers according to postcode, region, permitted device location or another disclosed territory rule. A provider may receive a limited licence for an approved territory, but does not own, purchase or control the Network Signature outside that territory.
We may define territory boundaries, resolve overlaps, appoint or replace providers, leave an area unassigned and decline a territory request. A Network Signature result may identify an exclusive or participating provider; it is not necessarily an independent comparison of every provider available in that area.
You receive no ownership interest in our domains, brand, platform or underlying infrastructure. We may reserve technical, safety-sensitive, official, protected or strategically important names and may correct an assignment made because of error, fraud or an unresolved rights dispute.
Founding Beta and service plans
Under the Founding Beta offer, an approved memorable name receives the available Smart feature set for its initial 12-month term without charge and without a payment card. Premium, Select and Signature names remain subject to human review and availability. The offer does not override these Terms or guarantee approval of a requested name.
The beta service may change as features are tested and corrected. Before the initial term ends, we will display or communicate the renewal options then available. Regular annual pricing applies only if you choose to renew a paid plan or paid name tier. We will not charge a payment method without your authorisation.
Renewal, expiry and payment
Service and name-tier prices are displayed in Australian dollars and may vary by plan and name. The price applicable to a renewal will be shown before payment or recorded on an invoice. Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, renewal is not automatic.
A Standard name may qualify for a no-charge Basic renewal under the genuine-use conditions shown in the account or pricing page. Smart features and Premium, Select or Signature names ordinarily require the applicable annual renewal. A redirect generated merely to manipulate an activity requirement may be disregarded.
If a name is not renewed or does not satisfy the applicable activity requirement, it may enter reminder, grace, suspended, recovery or quarantine stages before becoming eligible for release. The relevant dates and status shown in the account control. We may send reminders as a convenience, but you remain responsible for checking the term date.
Future paid fees are generally not refundable for change of mind after a renewal term begins, except where the law, a specific offer or our published refund conditions require otherwise. If we permanently discontinue a paid service for reasons unrelated to your breach, we will provide any remedy required by law and may offer a proportionate credit or refund.
Destinations, routing rules and QR codes
You control the destinations and routing rules configured for your link. You are responsible for every destination that can be selected by time, date, day, country, region, device, platform, click count or other condition, including the default destination used when no rule matches.
You must test changes and keep destinations current. A QR code or printed link may remain in circulation after you change its destination, so you must consider the expectations of people who received it. Tracking labels and placement values must not be deceptive, contain sensitive personal information or be used to circumvent consent requirements.
Customer changes to an existing default destination, and customer-created or changed routing-rule destinations, are paused for human destination review. A requested destination does not become active until the required human review and technical check have passed. We may approve it, request more information or reject and block it. An approval is not legal advice or a guarantee that the destination will remain lawful or safe after review.
We may limit the number of links, rules, QR placements, checks or requests available to an account. Analytics are estimates and may include bots, blocked requests, incomplete location information and other inaccuracies. They must not be treated as audited measurements.
Acceptable use and customer responsibility
You must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and all applicable laws. You must not use the service for harmful, misleading, adult, unlawful or deceptive content; spam; impersonation; malware; scams; safety-control evasion; technical attacks; or any prohibited resale or transfer.
You are responsible for your content, destination, promotional messages, QR distribution, customer disclosures, licences, consents and legal compliance. Our approval of a name, destination or automated check is not legal advice, endorsement or certification.
Immediate suspension and termination by us
We may immediately suspend, disable or stop redirecting any link, destination, routing rule, QR placement or account without prior notice where we reasonably believe it breaches our policies, creates a safety, security, legal or reputational risk, attempts to evade our controls, or may cause harm to users, third parties or the service.
A restriction may remain in place while we investigate. Depending on the circumstances, we may block a destination, require a change, remove access to features, suspend an account, terminate the right to use a name, preserve relevant records or refer the matter to an appropriate provider or authority.
Where reasonably possible and lawful, an affected owner may request human reconsideration under the Abuse & Safety Policy. The link does not need to be restored while review is underway. Serious, deliberate, repeated or evasive breaches may result in permanent termination and may prevent the same person or organisation from opening another account.
Ending your account
You may stop using the service and ask us to close your account by contacting support from the registered email address. Before closing the account, you should remove or replace printed links and QR codes that may still be used.
Closure normally ends the right to use assigned names and may cause them to enter a quarantine or release process. Account closure does not require us to erase information that we reasonably need for security, dispute, fraud-prevention, accounting, safety or legal purposes. Privacy requests are handled under the Privacy Policy.
Service availability and changes
We aim to operate a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Redirects, dashboards, analytics, email, QR generation or destination checks may be delayed or unavailable because of maintenance, faults, internet conditions, external providers, attacks, legal requirements or events outside reasonable control.
We may add, remove or change beta features, limits and technical requirements. If a change materially reduces a paid service during its current term, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and any remedy required by law. We may make immediate changes where necessary for safety, security or legal compliance.
Intellectual property and feedback
We retain all rights in the NowTake.me, NowOpen.me and NowGet.me domains, the Now Links service, branding, software, interfaces and original materials. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you. You retain rights in material you provide and give us permission to process and display it only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and support the service.
If you provide suggestions or feedback, we may use them without payment or obligation, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission.
Third parties, consumer rights and liability
Destinations are operated by third parties. We do not control or endorse their content, products, security, availability or privacy practices. Visitors and link owners must assess third-party services for themselves.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to those rights, the service is provided on an “as available” basis and we do not guarantee that a particular name, feature, destination, result or level of traffic will remain available or meet every purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible to the other for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Where our liability for a service can lawfully be limited, it is limited, at our option, to supplying the service again or paying the reasonable cost of having it supplied again. This limitation does not apply where it would be unfair or unlawful.
Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect service, safety, pricing or legal changes. The version and effective date identify the terms in force. We will provide reasonable notice of a material change where practicable and may ask account holders to accept an updated version before continuing to use affected features.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The parties submit to the courts and tribunals with jurisdiction there, without limiting any right to bring a claim in another forum where the law permits.
Questions, cancellation requests or formal notices may be sent to support@nowtake.me. A real person will attend to support and policy enquiries.
Back to policy indexPrivacy Policy
What information the service handles, why it is needed, who may receive it and how individuals can make a request or complaint.
Scope and privacy commitment
This Privacy Policy explains how Now Links manages personal information in connection with NowTake.me, NowOpen.me, NowGet.me, account pages, public name searches, link redirects, QR codes, support, safety reports and administration. It applies to account holders, applicants, website visitors, people who follow a memorable link and people who contact or report to us.
We aim to collect only information reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the service. We do not sell personal information or use click information for third-party behavioural advertising.
Account and service information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect and hold:
- your name, email address, encrypted or hashed password, account status and email-verification records;
- login, session, security, password-reset and policy-acceptance records;
- requested and assigned memorable names, intended use, review notes and evidence of authority or business control;
- default destinations, requested destination changes, routing rules, schedules, QR placements, tracking labels and service settings;
- previous and requested destination URLs, destination-review status, technical-check results, reviewer decisions and notification timestamps;
- support messages, administrative notes, complaints, reconsideration requests and communications;
- billing plan, name tier, order, invoice, renewal and payment-reference information;
- abuse reports, safety-check results, decision history and an optional reporter email; and
- technical logs such as timestamps, request results, error messages and security events.
Passwords are not stored in readable form. We do not currently require a payment card for the Founding Beta. If a payment provider is introduced, it may collect card or bank details directly under its own privacy terms; we do not intend to store complete card numbers or card security codes.
Click analytics and memorable-link visitors
When someone follows a memorable link, we may record the link, time, selected destination, click sequence, approximate country and region, general device type, operating platform, browser category, referring website host, routing rule and QR placement or source parameters supplied in the URL.
Country and region may be inferred from network or edge-provider information. They are approximate and should not be treated as a precise location. The customer-facing analytics are designed to report general patterns rather than identify an individual visitor. We do not intentionally store the visitor’s name, email address or exact GPS location merely because they followed a link.
A Network Signature may ask you to allow browser location access or enter a postcode so we can identify a participating provider for your area. Permission is requested by your browser and you may refuse and use the postcode option instead. Exact coordinates submitted for a match are processed transiently and are not written by the application to customer analytics. We may record the selected provider, country and approximate region when you choose to open the result.
After redirection, the visitor’s browser connects to the destination website. That operator may receive ordinary internet request information such as an IP address, browser headers and referring information and applies its own privacy policy. Now Links does not control the destination’s collection practices.
How we collect information
We collect information directly when a person registers, verifies an email, requests a name, configures a link, contacts support, submits a report or asks for reconsideration. We collect technical and click information automatically when the service is accessed.
We may also receive information from an organisation authorising a user, a person reporting possible misuse, Cloudflare or another security provider, a destination response, an email provider, a future payment provider, publicly available records or an authority acting lawfully. If you provide information about another person, you must have a lawful reason and avoid unnecessary sensitive information.
Why we use information
We may use information to:
- create, verify, administer and secure accounts;
- process name requests and conduct human or assisted classification and verification;
- operate redirects, routing rules, QR attribution and analytics;
- communicate about approvals, service status, support, expiry, renewal and policy changes;
- prevent fraud, spam, abuse, unauthorised access and technical attacks;
- check destinations, investigate reports and make or review safety decisions;
- maintain financial, operational and audit records;
- diagnose faults, measure service performance and improve features; and
- comply with legal obligations, lawful requests and dispute-resolution processes.
We may create aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not reasonably identify an individual. We will not use personal information for an unrelated purpose unless permitted by law or the person would reasonably expect that use.
Sessions, cookies and Cloudflare Turnstile
The service uses essential session cookies or similar storage to keep users signed in, maintain form security, remember necessary workflow state and protect requests. These are not used for third-party behavioural advertising.
Public registration and security-sensitive forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish people from automated abuse. The widget runs a security challenge in the browser and sends a token for server-side verification. Cloudflare may process technical information needed to provide that security function under its own privacy terms.
You can restrict cookies through your browser, but account, login or protected form functions may not work correctly without essential cookies.
Who may receive information
We may disclose or make information available only as reasonably necessary to:
- hosting, infrastructure, content-delivery, security, backup and technical-support providers;
- email-delivery providers used for verification, notices and support;
- a future payment, invoicing, accounting or fraud-prevention provider;
- professional advisers such as legal, accounting, insurance or security specialists;
- another party involved in a genuine business sale or restructure, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements;
- registrars, hosts, platforms, regulators, courts or law-enforcement agencies when reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect safety, establish legal rights or comply with law; and
- other persons where the individual has consented or disclosure is otherwise authorised or required by law.
Link owners can access analytics for their links, but the dashboard is intended to provide categories and aggregated patterns rather than a visitor’s direct identity. We do not routinely give a reporter’s optional email address to the reported link owner.
Overseas processing and disclosure
Some infrastructure, security, email, support or future payment providers may operate globally or process information outside Australia. The countries involved depend on the providers and data centres used at the relevant time and may include the United States, European Union member states and other locations identified in those providers’ privacy materials.
Where Australian privacy law applies to an overseas disclosure, we will take reasonable steps required by law in the circumstances. You may contact us for current information about significant providers or likely overseas locations.
Security and data breaches
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the service, including access controls, password hashing, email verification, session protections, request validation, rate limiting, destination checks, security logging and restricted administrative access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a suspected data breach, we will assess and contain it, investigate the affected information and take reasonable remedial steps. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme or another applicable law requires notification, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulator.
You should use a unique password, keep your email account secure and contact us promptly if you notice unexpected account, destination or routing changes.
Retention, deletion and de-identification
We keep information while an account or name is active and for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Different records may have different retention periods. Security, abuse, decision, policy-acceptance, transaction and dispute records may be kept after account closure where needed to prevent repeat misuse, maintain an audit history, meet legal obligations or protect legal rights.
Click records may be retained for customer analytics and operational analysis, then aggregated, de-identified or deleted according to service settings and practical requirements. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten. When information is no longer reasonably needed and no legal basis requires retention, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Access, correction and deletion requests
You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct inaccurate or outdated information by emailing support@nowtake.me. We may need to verify identity and account control before responding.
You may also ask us to close an account or delete information. We will act where required and reasonably practicable, but may retain records that must or may lawfully be kept for security, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute, safety or legal purposes. We may refuse or limit access where the law permits and will explain the reason where required.
Privacy complaints, children and policy changes
The service is intended for account holders aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer customer accounts to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through an account without appropriate authority, contact us so we can assess it.
Send a privacy question or complaint to support@nowtake.me with enough information to understand the concern. A person will review it, may request identity verification and will aim to respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied and Australian privacy law applies, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
We may update this policy when our practices, providers, features or legal requirements change. The version and effective date identify the policy in force. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably practicable.
Back to policy indexAcceptable Use Policy
The non-negotiable rules for memorable names, destinations, conditional routing, QR codes, analytics and accounts.
A destination that breaches this policy may be stopped immediately without prior notice.
Scope and account-holder responsibility
This policy applies to every account, requested or assigned name, default destination, routing rule, schedule, QR placement, tracking parameter, message and use of the NowTake.me, NowOpen.me or NowGet.me service. It applies whether the destination is operated by you or by another person.
You are responsible for every destination your link can reach and for the way the link is advertised or distributed. If you act for an organisation, both you and the organisation must comply. You must investigate and correct misuse by employees, contractors or anyone given access to the account.
A provider participating in a Network Signature is responsible for its assigned destination, its advertising and its compliance within the licensed territory. It must not claim to own the Network Signature, claim coverage outside the assigned area or imply that the result independently compares every available provider.
You must follow both the letter and purpose of this policy. An activity may be prohibited where it is substantially similar to a listed example or creates a comparable safety, legal, security or reputational risk.
Harmful, fraudulent, misleading or deceptive use
You must not use the service to direct, assist or encourage:
- phishing, credential theft, fake login pages or unauthorised collection of passwords or authentication codes;
- scams, fraud, deceptive fundraising, fake investments, false prizes, advance-fee schemes or misleading payment requests;
- malware, ransomware, spyware, harmful code, unwanted software, deceptive downloads or compromised websites;
- false claims about the identity, destination, purpose, price, availability or security of a page, product or service;
- harassment, stalking, doxxing, credible threats, extortion, non-consensual intimate material or targeted abuse;
- promotion or instruction encouraging suicide, self-harm, terrorism, violent extremism or serious violence; or
- any content or activity that presents a credible risk of financial, physical, psychological or technical harm.
A memorable name must not be used to create false trust. The fact that a destination itself is hosted elsewhere does not remove your responsibility.
Adult, sexually explicit, exploitative and illegal content
You must not redirect to pornography, sexually explicit images, video, audio, writing or AI-generated material, live sexual content, sexual services, escort services or content primarily intended for sexual arousal. This service-level prohibition applies even where the material may otherwise be lawful or restricted to adults.
Legitimate medical, safety, educational or news material is not automatically adult content merely because it discusses anatomy, relationships or health. We may review its context, presentation and primary purpose.
You must never link to or facilitate:
- child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming or any sexualisation of a person under 18;
- non-consensual sexual material, sexual violence or trafficking;
- terrorist material, instructions for serious violent crime or unlawful extreme-violence material;
- illegal drugs, unlawful weapons, stolen data, counterfeit documents or other unlawful goods or services;
- illegal or unlicensed gambling, financial, medical or other regulated activities;
- content that unlawfully promotes hatred, discrimination or violence; or
- any material, transaction or conduct prohibited by applicable law.
Impersonation, brands and third-party rights
You must not use a memorable name or destination to impersonate another person, business, government body, bank, platform, charity or organisation, or to create a misleading impression of endorsement, partnership or authority.
You must not infringe trademarks, copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality or other legal rights. A generic word may still be prohibited when the name, destination, surrounding message or QR presentation is likely to confuse people about who operates the link.
You must provide truthful evidence when asked to verify a brand, business, property or project. Counterfeit evidence, hidden affiliations or a misleading explanation of intended use are serious breaches.
Spam, unsolicited messages and deceptive distribution
You must not distribute a memorable link through spam, unsolicited bulk email or messages, unlawful telemarketing, deceptive advertising, malicious comments, compromised accounts or any channel where the recipient has not been contacted lawfully.
You are responsible for required consent, sender identification, unsubscribe facilities and marketing disclosures. You must not disguise the commercial nature of a message, falsify its sender, use misleading urgency or place QR codes where they falsely appear to be official instructions.
High complaint rates, repeated unwanted contact or distribution patterns likely to damage the reputation of our domains may result in immediate restriction even if another provider delivered the messages.
Privacy, surveillance and personal information
You must not use a link to collect personal, financial, health, identity or authentication information deceptively, without lawful authority or without required privacy notices and consent. You must use reasonable security appropriate to the information collected.
You must not place a person’s sensitive information in a memorable name, QR tracking value, source parameter or other part of a URL. You must not use routing or analytics to stalk, discriminate unlawfully, infer sensitive characteristics, identify a person who reasonably expects anonymity or make a decision that causes unlawful harm.
Analytics must not be combined with other information to re-identify visitors contrary to law or their reasonable expectations.
Technical misuse and excessive automation
You must not:
- attack, probe, scan, reverse engineer, overload or disrupt the service or another system;
- bypass authentication, rate limits, account limits, destination checks or other controls;
- direct the service to localhost, private, internal, reserved or otherwise prohibited network addresses;
- upload or distribute code intended to compromise a device, browser, account or network;
- generate fake clicks, manipulate activity requirements, falsify analytics or use click farms or bots;
- scrape, harvest, enumerate or mass-register names or accounts without written permission;
- use an API, script or automated browser in a way that is undocumented, excessive or unauthorised; or
- interfere with safety investigations, logs, attribution or evidence.
We may apply technical limits or block traffic to protect reliability even where misuse was unintentional. Contact support before conducting security testing or high-volume integration work.
No cloaking, hidden destinations or safety evasion
You must not use schedules, geography, devices, platforms, click thresholds, redirect chains, nested shorteners, open redirects or other conditional logic to show a reviewer a harmless page while directing other visitors to prohibited content.
You must not conceal the final destination, repeatedly rotate domains to avoid detection, restore a blocked destination through a different URL, create a substantially identical replacement link or instruct another person to bypass a restriction.
Complex routing is permitted for legitimate purposes, but every possible destination must comply at all times. Deliberate evasion is a serious breach and may lead to termination of the entire account.
No resale, brokering or marketplace use
You must not treat a memorable name as a tradeable digital asset. You must not sell, auction, lease, rent, sublicense, broker, transfer or advertise a name, account or reservation on a marketplace, forum, social platform or private sales channel.
You must not register names primarily to hold them for resale, demand payment from another party, speculate on future value or create an unauthorised secondary market. You must not offer management access as a way to avoid the transfer restriction.
A genuine transfer arising from the verified sale, succession or restructure of a business may be considered at our discretion after identity, authority, intended use and safety checks. It requires prior written approval and is not guaranteed.
This restriction does not prevent Now Links from administering a Network Signature or granting separate, non-overlapping territory licences. A participating provider must not resell, subdivide, sublicense or list its territory licence without our prior written approval.
Immediate enforcement and human reconsideration
We may immediately suspend, disable or stop redirecting any link, destination, routing rule, QR placement or account without prior notice where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached or action is necessary to protect users, third parties, our domains, the service or the public.
We may investigate, require evidence or changes, block a destination, restrict features, preserve records, terminate a name or account and refer serious matters to an appropriate provider or authority. We may consider intent, harm, urgency, history, cooperation, evasion and whether a narrower action can manage the risk.
An owner may request human reconsideration as described in the Abuse & Safety Policy, but a restriction may remain while review is underway. Reports may be submitted through the public report form.
Back to policy indexAbuse & Safety Policy
How we receive reports, check destinations, respond to risk and give link owners a fair way to ask for human reconsideration.
Send us the memorable address and what happened. A report does not automatically remove a legitimate link.
Purpose and scope
NowTake.me, NowOpen.me and NowGet.me provide memorable links that redirect visitors to destinations selected by a link owner or, for a Network Signature, to an approved participating provider for a selected location. This policy applies to every memorable link, Network Signature territory, provider destination, default destination, scheduled destination, routing rule and QR placement used with the service.
Link owners are responsible for every destination their link can reach, including destinations selected by time, date, country, region, device, platform, click count or another routing condition. Changing a destination does not avoid this policy.
What should be reported
Please report a memorable link if you reasonably believe it is being used for:
- phishing, password collection, credential theft or payment fraud;
- malware, harmful downloads, unwanted software or technical attacks;
- scams, materially deceptive promotions or misleading redirects;
- impersonation, confusing brand use or pretending to represent another person or organisation;
- spam or repeated unsolicited promotion;
- pornography, sexually explicit material, sexual services or other adult content prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy;
- child exploitation, threats, serious harassment, doxxing or content presenting an immediate safety risk;
- unlawful or dangerous content, products, services or activity; or
- attempts to bypass our checks, hide a harmful final destination or repeatedly restore a destination we have blocked.
A broken page, ordinary disagreement or content you simply dislike is not, by itself, abuse. You may still contact us if you are unsure.
How reports work
Anyone can use our public report form. Include the complete NowTake.me, NowOpen.me or NowGet.me address, select the closest concern type and briefly explain what you observed. An email address is optional. Do not submit passwords, payment-card information, identity documents or other unnecessary sensitive information.
When a report is accepted, we record the reported memorable link, its configured default destination at that time, the selected concern type, the description and any optional contact email. For rate limiting, we store a one-way anonymous identifier rather than the reporter’s raw IP address.
A report alone does not automatically pause a link. Reports are placed in the safety queue for human assessment, unless a separate automated destination check identifies a technical condition that our system blocks immediately.
Automated checks and human destination-change review
We use separate technical and human safeguards. New destinations may be queued for an automated technical check, and active destinations are rechecked periodically, with warnings and failures checked again sooner. The checker may examine whether:
- the address is a complete HTTP or HTTPS URL with a valid host;
- the destination uses a standard web port and does not contain an embedded username or password;
- the host resolves to public internet addresses rather than a private, local or reserved network;
- HTTPS certificate verification succeeds;
- the site responds and where a limited redirect chain ends; and
- an administrator has placed a manual allow or block decision on that destination.
A warning, timeout, access restriction or temporarily broken page does not normally prove abuse and is not automatically treated as harmful. However, destinations that resolve to local, private or reserved network addresses may be blocked automatically to protect the service and other systems.
When a customer changes an existing default destination, or creates or changes a routing-rule destination, that requested destination is paused for human review. The reviewer may consider the old and requested URLs, the memorable name, intended use, account history, routing context and technical-check result. The requested destination remains inactive until the required human and technical decisions permit it.
Network Signature provider destinations are separately queued for technical safety checking. They are publicly selectable only while the territory is active, its licence dates are current, any assigned customer account is active and the destination is not blocked. We may pause one local provider without disabling compliant providers in other territories.
We keep a destination-review history that may include the customer, affected link or rule, old and requested URLs, review status, decisions, reasons and notification timestamps. If a requested destination is rejected, we may block that exact URL, keep the link paused and restore its previous URL, or remove a newly created rule. The customer may request reconsideration under section 04.7.
Technical checks and human review are limited snapshots. They do not certify that a website, organisation, offer or download is trustworthy, lawful or safe. A destination can change its content after approval, and a complex rule may produce behaviour that was not visible during review. We may recheck, investigate or pause a destination later. Visitors should still use normal care before sharing information, downloading files or making a payment.
When a link may be paused
We may immediately suspend, disable or stop redirecting any link, destination, routing rule, QR placement or account without prior notice where we reasonably believe it breaches our policies, creates a safety, security, legal or reputational risk, attempts to evade our controls, or may cause harm to users, third parties or the service.
Immediate or temporary action may occur where:
- an automated check identifies a blocked network destination;
- a credible report or our own review indicates phishing, malware, fraud, impersonation or another serious risk;
- the same harmful destination is used by more than one route;
- an owner repeatedly changes routing to avoid a previous safety action;
- urgent action is needed to prevent likely harm; or
- we are required to act by law, court order or an authorised regulator or law-enforcement agency.
Where the risk is limited to one destination or rule, we will try to take proportionate action against that part of the service. A serious, deliberate, repeated or evasive issue may require a wider account restriction or permanent termination. We may act before contacting the owner when advance notice could increase harm, frustrate an investigation or allow the destination to be moved.
Human review and possible outcomes
A person reviews abuse reports and decides whether to dismiss the report, seek more information, keep the matter under review or take action. We may test available routing conditions, inspect destination and account history, consider the clarity of the memorable name, review evidence supplied by either party and look for repeated patterns.
Depending on the evidence and risk, we may:
- dismiss the report and leave the link active;
- ask the owner to explain the use or change a destination;
- pause or block a destination, rule, link or QR placement;
- restore a link after the concern has been resolved;
- restrict, suspend or close an account for serious or repeated misuse; or
- preserve relevant records and refer a matter to a hosting provider, registrar, regulator or law-enforcement agency.
We do not promise that every report will receive an individual response. If the reporter supplies an email address, we may contact them for clarification, but we may be unable to provide details about an owner, an investigation or action taken.
How an owner can request reconsideration
If your link or destination has been paused and you believe the decision is incorrect, email support@nowtake.me from the email address associated with your account. Include:
- the complete memorable link;
- the decision or message you are asking us to reconsider;
- what the destination is intended to do and why you believe it complies; and
- any relevant evidence, such as proof that you control the destination or have authority to use a name or brand.
A person will reconsider the available information. We may ask you to change the destination, verify identity or authority, or provide more detail before restoring access. Do not send passwords, authentication codes or full payment-card details. Reconsideration does not guarantee restoration, particularly where the risk remains unresolved or action is legally required.
Urgent matters, records and external authorities
Our report form is not an emergency service. If there is an immediate threat to life or safety in Australia, call 000. You may also report cybercrime through ReportCyber, scams through Scamwatch, and qualifying online harm through the eSafety Commissioner. People outside Australia should contact the appropriate emergency, law-enforcement or online-safety body in their country.
We retain report and safety-review information as reasonably needed to investigate concerns, prevent repeated misuse, maintain an audit history, protect legal rights and respond to lawful requests. Further information is provided in the Privacy Policy.
We may update this policy as the service, threats or legal requirements change. The effective date and version shown above identify the version in force. Nothing in this policy limits rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
